“THIS is why I love you”
When someone is part of your life — be it a partner, parent, child, or friend — it’s all too easy to take the relationship for granted. To love and to feel loved is so important. And, to express those sentiments is essential in cementing the love and the connections with those close to us.
Yet sometimes the words, “I love you” get overused. It’s a phrase that often gets tossed around because it feels like it’s the right thing to say in a certain moment, and the more we say it without purpose, the more it loses its significance. For me, to “adore” someone conveys a more powerful message. One that has a strong root system and can withstand any storm.
To adore someone is when there’s an unavoidable outpouring of love and support and gratitude for all the joy that someone has brought to your life, and my new lucite art collection is an expression of total adoration.
Using a kaleidoscope effect using ink and watercolor, “ADORING” is an outpouring of love. It uses deep purples and pink to represent deep devotion and bonding. Its continuous and flowing lines represent that there is often no beginning or end to love. We sometimes don’t know the moment that we first feel it, yet we know that it’s there. And even when the person that we love isn’t always present in the physical sense, we can still have a deep sense of love for them. The kaleidoscope configuration helped me to express how love overflows and outpours that we often have no control over, and how each of us can express that love and adoration in different ways.
“ADORING” is 36″ x 36″ x 1.5″ with an aluminum hanging system.
