April’s spectacular events at the ALG Collective

Wow… what a month April was. We hosted two spectacular events to celebrate our latest art collection and the start of the popular Dallas Art Fair week.

Our Spring Exhibition Opening Night showcased my latest Spring Collections, “BLUE WAVES” and “WILD AND WINDBLOWN.”

Vintage mirror hand embellished with colourful, fused glass flowers by Anna Lou Glass, Dallas

White fused glass flowers on a vintage mirror with bamboo style frame

“WILD AND WINDBLOWN,” for the first time ever, combines my signature fused glass flowers in startling detail with vintage and antique mirrors, pushing my fused work further than ever before.

Each piece began with a single piece of broken glass, with the next piece connecting to the one before it, building without a traditional base to create a marvelous web of colored flowers that were stable because of their interconnectivity. Only after they were fired were they then given the backdrop of a vintage or antique mirror. The mirror and the glass flowers provide the perfect combination to celebrate finding stability within the beauty of nature amidst its natural chaos.

I received some amazing feedback on my new collection. If you missed this incredible event and you still want to see these pieces in the gallery, you can book a private studio visit here.

Dallas Fashion Group International Communique event

The other event that took place in April was the Dallas Fashion Group International Communique event, featuring talented designers Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia of @sachinandbabi. In an exclusive interview at the ALG Collective, they shared their inspiring journey and how they built their business over the years.

Laura Harris of NBC 5 did an excellent job moderating the discussion and keeping the energy high.

Guests received a preview of my latest collection as well as the stunning artwork from my fellow resident artists, Melissa Ellis, Christi Meril and Rachel Nash.

We were proud to be able to house this event, combining the synergies between art and fashion in the sleek showroom of the ALG Collective.
