31 artists. 4 poems. 1 theme.
On Saturday, this year’s ALG Fine Art Visiting Artists Show came to an end. We are so proud of what we have been able to accomplish with this exhibition. It proves once again why this event is central to our calendar as a gallery.
The stories, art and incredible artists of “Poetic License” have resonated with the community and led to amazing outcomes that have uplifted the Dallas art scene.
Art sales
First and foremost, our job is to connect artists with collectors and collectors with art they love. We were able to do that multiple times through this year’s Visiting Artists Show. It’s an event where collectors know they can find new, interesting, and local artists creating pieces that speak to them.
The following artworks from “Poetic License” found homes by the end of the show.
- “Bravo” by Kris O’Keefe
- “Strata et Erosion” by Charlotte Clift Marsden
- “I’ll Fly Away” by Elise Boerder-Broadway
- “Road to the Light” by Jane Hopkins
- “Artful Mischief” by Barbara Mason
- “Ingrid’s Flowers In Wonderland” by Jacqueline Claudet Mitterer
- “Stella” by Michelle Noah
Platform
By exhibiting artwork from these artists, we were able to help them reach a whole new audience that will support their ongoing creative endeavors. The opening night alone attracted over 400 visitors who came to the gallery to see their artwork.
Each piece of artwork was featured on our marketing channels. Over the course of the show, we totalled 140k views on our Instagram and almost 20k opens on email, bringing exposure to these amazing artists.
The Visiting Artists Show also received press attention, furthering our reach. “Poetic License” was featured in VisitDallas, CultureMap, D Magazine, and The Scout Guide.
Connection
The Visiting Artists Show brings people together in so many ways. It’s an opportunity for artists to connect with other artists in their community. It’s an opportunity for artists to meet collectors and creative professionals who could provide them with future platforms and commissions. It’s an opportunity for people to reconnect with themselves and each other as they explore the show and reflect on and discuss what it means to them.
This show had some particularly special connections. The theme and prompts were based on the incredible poetry collection Clumsy Beauty by J.K. Kennedy. As well as connecting over her wonderful words, J.K. Kennedy joined us on the opening night. The artists and visitors loved having her there! We also saw a great collaboration between two of our Visiting Artists. Christopher Miller (his contribution to the show is “It’s My Life”) interviewed Matt Kaplinsky (his artwork is “Be Made an Instrument of Peace”) on his podcast. Watch it here!
We are so grateful to everyone who made this show and its impact possible. Thank you to J.K. Kennedy for your illuminating poetry. Thank you to the artists for sharing your incredible artistic talents with us. Thank you to our supporters who visited the show, engaged with it online and shared the message with your contacts. Thank you to the ALG Fine Art Team working behind the scenes to bring extraordinary art experiences to life.
