Last month, we celebrated our 5th birthday since I opened ALG Fine Art on Dragon Street, Dallas.
I still remember the mix of excitement and nerves that very first day. Even though I’ve exhibited my art at different venues in Dallas, this time, it was different.
I was creating a business around my art.
Not only that, I invited other local artists as part of my journey to share their work too.
But when we had our opening night and hearing the hustle and laughter of guests milling around the studio, admiring the art on display, purchasing pieces and wanting to be added to our mailing list for future events, it felt very real.
And I loved it!
5 years on, the ALG Fine Art Gallery is evolving and becoming a destination for buying art and artistic exploration.
A luxury art gallery brimming with creativity
The ALG Fine Art was never meant to be just a gallery. My dream was always that I could bring other talented local artists together who share such a passion for creativity and who are always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in their work.
Over the years, ALG Fine Art has not only become a place where you can buy luxury art, but also a creative hub brimming with passion for art and creativity.
From a Collective to a Fine Art Gallery
I always want to be evolving and developing both as an artist and a gallery owner.
I’m not a believer of just standing still, and I have far too much energy for just ‘settling.’ So earlier this year, I evolved the ALG Collective by renaming it to ALG Fine Art Gallery to better represent the artistic breadth of the work and talent showcased here.
One of the more notable developments is the launch of our Gift Shop which is a space within the Gallery where you can get smaller works of art (prints, frames, small gifts for your favorite people). Come and visit and take a look.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have this artistic space in the heart of the Dallas Design District. We regularly take part in Art Walks for art collectors, where different businesses and galleries can participate each month. We’ve also got an amazing rooftop area, which is a unique space with unbeatable views of the city for entertaining or enjoying a glass of fizz during our Open Events.
One of the highlights of last year was an Intimate Evening with the House of Pierre Cardin featuring high-end fashionists, along with many guests who follow the fashion and arts scene in Dallas.
Call for local artists
I am now seeking an artist to take long term residency at the ALG Fine Art Gallery. You’ll have access to a dedicated studio space where you can create your work as well as an opportunity to showcase your work in group shows on Dragon Street, one of Dallas’ most prestigious addresses for artists. You’ll also have full use of gallery walls for one solo show every 2 years (applicable after 1 year).
If you’re interested in applying for this role, you can read more about it here.
Come and see this amazing creative space for yourself. Browse our diverse range of art available on show and see our resident artists at work.
