The Art of Honoring

One of the ways that we can create a sense of grounding in our lives is by honoring ourselves and others. Honoring someone means recognizing their worth, and respecting them for who they are. It is about creating a connection with another person, allowing others to feel heard and acknowledged for who they are.

Honoring through art can take many forms. It can be as simple as making a card for someone, or writing a poem about them. It’s about creating something that has meaning, and that will resonate with others. Whatever way you choose to express it, art is a powerful way to create a memory of someone, a place, or an idea that has subtlety or boldly changed your life as a result.

My new “FAITH” series features a colorful depiction of the act of “HONORING” using pastel blues with my deepest thoughts intertwined within the kaleidoscope effect.

Honoring others means recognizing their strengths and weaknesses, and accepting them for who they are. Listening to what they have to say, and truly hearing them. It is about giving them the space to be who they are, without judgement.

Honoring is about connection

When we honor ourselves and others, we create a sense of respect and understanding and open up the possibility for true connection, and a deeper level of respect.

Honoring yourself

Make sure you take time for yourself – to relax, to do things you enjoy, and to connect with your feelings. Honoring your emotions means acknowledging them, and giving yourself permission to feel them.

How do you choose to honor those important people in your lives? Those who have left a special memory or have a special place that you will always hold dear in your heart? Art is a beautiful way to express your deepest emotions, whether you choose to create it yourself, or buy an art mural that will allow you to always remember it fondly.
