As part of my new solo show, “It Started in Paris,” I’ve launched a brand-new art collection, “Let It Be…”, and honestly, it’s been the most liberating project I think I’ve ever created.
During my artist residency in France, I found that simplifying expectations led to healing, embracing curiosity led to courage and breaking down perfectionism led to balance. Confronting my past struggles with self-doubt allowed me to emerge with bold and unapologetic artwork.
This series of self-portraits is designed to confidently proclaim “Know and accept yourself just the way you are.”
The collection reinforces my message…
I worked primarily with acrylic on canvas, playing with different backgrounds that represent different emotional landscapes. Some are soft and dreamy, others are vibrant and bold—representing the depth within all of us.
This artistic experimentation is an intimate exploration of rediscovering my voice as an artist and unapologetic creative freedom. I was inspired by Van Gogh and the self-portraits he created throughout the highs and lows of his life and career in which he found healing as have I.
These pieces are a love letter to us all, prompting us to embrace all parts of ourselves and capture all life’s moments.
Your unique perspective is your superpower. Let. It. Be.
