We’re often told to forget the past and live in the present. While far too many of us live defined by the choices we made in the past, it’s not something that we should forget in a hurry. Acknowledging the past helps us to approach each day differently; more kindly, more graciously as we get older.
“ROCK ‘EM SOCK ‘EM” is about learning from the past, the good and the bad, and softening the hard truths we may have experienced along the way. It’s remembering the joy we had when life delighted us and choosing to layer it over the empathy and compassion that can only come from wisdom as we interact with our modern world.
And if it makes you want to don neon, a high side ponytail, and break out the old rock ’em sock ’em toy from the attic to challenge someone to a battle with Madonna blaring from a mixtape in the background, I completely approve! Actually, I’ll even join you!
Made with Hand-Cut Fused Glass on a Custom Lucite Frame with D-rings, this piece incorporates some of my favorite colors, green and orange, and my best-selling spring flower is held up to acknowledge kindness, graciousness, and beauty.
