I am super excited to be hosting my very own flower sketching class during GladFest at Mars Hill Farm on Friday, June 25th!
You’ll be learning the principles and techniques to draw your own beautiful bouquet of Gladiolus with confidence and proficiency.
All my glass art flower sculptures start with a sketch, and my aim is to inspire you to create beautiful bouquet drawings for yourself and be able to enjoy the process as much as your finished piece.
Flowers are beautifully complex forms, and my favorite bit of nature to capture. For one night only, I’ll be sharing my sketching tips and tricks with you – taking you step by step through the process, so you have the skills and confidence to draw beautiful flowers.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a mini Van Gogh to participate, but a willingness to learn and try new skills is a MUST! All materials will be provided for you, including a Gladiolus bouquet which you’ll be learning to draw. If you come early, you can even cut your own bouquet of gladiolus to sketch and take home.
The masterclass takes place at Mars Hill Farm, located 20 miles south of Dallas in Ferris. Mars Hill provides jobs for refugees, as well as fresh food and flowers to Dallasites. Visitors are invited to cut their own flowers from the farm’s blooming fields which look absolutely stunning at this time of year. You can also pick your own veggies too!
The farm will be open at 5:30pm for cutting and picnics, so you can make a real evening of it with friends, pick your own bouquet, and join the class 7pm-8:30pm.
Tickets are $25 and space is limited, so gather your friends and book today!
