Miss Isabelle Takes The Dallas Art Scene

ALG Fine Art is all about the people. The incredible artists who explore the intricacies of the human experience in a way that touches our hearts. The community that engages with, supports, and champions the powerful art in our gallery. The amazing team that makes it all happen. This month, the ALG Fine Art Team has expanded to include a wonderful new Gallery Manager who will help us continue to grow, thrive, and serve you.

Meet Isabelle Heard. As our Gallery Manager, you’ll see her in the gallery, packing orders, talking to visitors, and keeping everything in ship shape. Also, she’ll be working behind the scenes with the rest of the team to organise art shows and expand the impact of the ALG.

Isabelle’s journey with art so far

Art was a big part of Isabelle’s childhood. Her mom is from Spain and would show her the beautiful works of Spanish and European artists. As well as exploring museums together, they would play a card game matching artists and their artwork. This is why Isabelle is so drawn to impressionist artists like Monet.

In a recent trip to Colombia, she visited the Botero Museum, where she saw pieces from artists including Monet, Picasso, and Dalí, and felt moved by art’s ability to transport you to different places and times.

That being said, one of the most exciting things about art for Isabelle is that you don’t need to know the different artists, movements, and styles. You can let your feelings lead you and enjoy whatever you are drawn to at that time in your life.

This sentiment is how she chose the first piece of art she bought for her own collection. Isabelle was visiting an art market, not expecting to buy anything, just enjoying browsing the eclectic mix of pieces. Then she walked up to a piece that spoke to her.

It was a painting of sand dunes and reeds moving in the breeze. Immediately, it transported her to her time spent at college in Charleston, South Carolina. She wanted to bring this memory of her favourite beach spot home with her as she embarked on the next chapter in her life and it’s been with her ever since.

The person behind the role

Isabelle grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and moved to Dallas over 3 years ago to be closer to her sister and her young family. Before taking the role of Gallery Manager at ALG Fine Art, she worked as a Sunday School Teacher, enjoying creating meaningful experiences for the children and building strong community relationships.

She loves to travel and experience new places and cultures, particularly anywhere she can speak Spanish, as it always feels homey having learned Spanish from her mom. Isabelle also loves reading. There’s a theme of exploring new places, whether physically traveling or being transported through art and books. At home, she loves spending time with her cat and her dog.

Taking the Dallas Art Scene by storm!

In her first few weeks as Gallery Manager, Isabelle has embraced art as a conversation and how it takes us on a journey. What art says to us and how it moves us is the key to building a collection of art that we love.

She’s excited to come alongside people to guide them as they discover the art that speaks to them and expand their collection so they have art in their home that truly inspires and moves them. Aligned with the ALG Fine Art mission and vision, she’ll find her voice and put her own spin on launching us as a cultural hub of transformative art experiences.

About the draw of our gallery, Isabelle said, “ALG Fine Art is a great place to start. They meet you where you are. Everyone says art is a journey but they truly walk alongside you, even as you are discovering what pathway to take. The team does a great job at helping you approach art with curiosity and a sense of exploration.”
