Meet Christi
Christi Meril’s creative inspiration blooms from nature and how it blends with modern life. Growing up in Dallas, she was captivated by the energy of the city, while time spent hiking in the Rocky Mountains sparked a deep connection to nature. You can see this dual inspiration in her body of artwork as organic textures sit beside modern forms, creating a union between nature and modernity.
Her unique and thought-provoking artwork has led her to become an established contemporary artist in the Dallas art scene, recognized for her multidimensional approach to fine art.
Christi’s artistic journey has been one of constant evolution, shaped by an intuitive process and a deep engagement with history, materiality, and form. Her work challenges the boundaries of traditional media, bringing together wood, canvas, and mixed materials in a way that is both unexpected and intentional.
Meet “Grounded”
“Grounded” is the latest piece Christi has created. It’s currently on display at ALG Fine Art. For this piece, she drew her inspiration from the Northern California coastline, north of San Francisco, and the Colorado Rockies, hiking through the mountains. While these locations have different landscapes and energy, the consistency is the role of nature and our connection to it.
Whether immersing herself in the coastline or the mountains, Christi feels a steadiness beneath her feet when surrounded by nature. These stunning natural structures hold you in their quiet strength. A quiet strength that sits between stillness and movement, a complementary contrast so often seen in nature and our own lives. By returning to nature, we can replenish this quiet strength and carry it with us wherever our journey takes us.
As a Resident Artist, Christi has a wide selection of artwork on display at ALG Fine Art all year round.
