ALG Fine Art is built on the principle that a rising tide lifts all boats so our annual Visiting Artist Show is one of the most significant events in our calendar. This is when we put out an open call for artists to be featured in our gallery. All experience levels and all mediums are welcome to apply. We focus on the heart in your art.
This is an exciting opportunity for artists to showcase their work on the most well-known gallery street in the Dallas Design District. Reach new audiences as our Visiting Artists Show attracts collectors, art lovers and those interested in exploring the world through a new lens.
We think deeply about the themes we choose to bring the pieces in this show together while inviting exploration from different perspectives.
The Visiting Artists Show theme & entry points
The theme of our next Visiting Artists Show is “Evidence of a Human Touch.” It’s a show we feel the need to curate now, highlighting art that could only have been made by a real person.
Within this theme, we have chosen three entry points through the frame of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, a piece of art in itself all about the human experience and imagination. The scale is wrong, the rules keep changing, and every character is strange in their own way.
- Curiosity – Looking at things in unexpected ways. Cast your mind to the scene where Alice eats the cake which makes her grow and grow, causing her to utter “Curiouser and curiouser.”
- Belief – How deciding to believe in something can make it so. Think of the scene where Alice meets the unicorn and the quote “If you believe in me, I’ll believe in you.”
- Dreams – The importance of imagining the impossible inspired by the quote “Life what is it but a dream?”
What we are looking for
Take these prompts and tell your own story. We are not after a literal retelling of the book. We want to see your exploration of these themes and how they relate to the humanness that connects us all.
Submit in any medium and any number of pieces. Embrace looking at things in a different way, challenging yourself and breaking through limitations you have previously abided by. Art is chosen through a blind selection process so let your story and your message shine through your work.
How to apply to the Visiting Artists Show
We are working towards a show opening of January 23rd 2027.
Right now we are accepting expressions of interest. This will add you to the VIP list and we will contact you with all the information about the application process and deadlines.
Official applications will open in November. This is when we will need all the details about the artwork you would like to feature in the show. Start creating now!
Applications will close and successful artists will be notified in December. We’ll arrange drop-off of the artwork and anything else we need to platform you at ALG Fine Art.
