The summer is always a period of high creativity at the gallery. The slower pace of summer allows our artists to explore, experiment and create in new and exciting ways. We’d like to extend this hive of creativity to you by inviting you to join us for a special evening at ALG Fine Art.
On Friday, July 17th, we’ll be opening the doors to the gallery at 5:30 pm and you are welcome to wander around the gallery until 8 pm. Move through the artwork at your own pace. Enjoy a drink and a conversation. Peek behind the curtain of the creative process. Walk away feeling renewed and reinvigorated to take the creative spark into your own life.
Here are 6 reasons to drop into the Summer Social at ALG Fine Art.
- Three artists in one space. The highlight of the current hang at the gallery is our three Resident Artists. Anna Curnes works predominantly in hot-sculpted, thrown, hand-cut and fused glass. Christi Meril creates in mixed media and often uses old-growth redwood as the foundation of her pieces. Lisa Moriarty is an encaustic artist inspired by the Northern California coastline. The range of artwork in our Resident Collection gives you so much to talk about.
- Intentional gifts. As well as the art on the walls, we have a smalls shop with pieces that make wonderful gifts for loved ones or yourself. Browse what we have available, and the team will help you find a perfect fit for an upcoming birthday, anniversary or another special occasion.
- New artist discovery. We have rehung the gallery to feature a select few vault pieces from Visiting Artists. We love platforming Visiting Artists to match you with art, styles and stories that spark something in you.
- Live art demonstrations. Anna Curnes will share her creative process as she does live glass art demonstrations during the evening. Watch her forge with fire using the techniques she learned while studying under a glass master in Murano.
- Christi’s send-off. Christi Meril is preparing to start a three-week artist residency at the end of the month. This is a great opportunity to engage with her artwork before her period of time away from the gallery. See her body of artwork now and then how it evolves on her return.
- Escape the Texas heat. Our cool and calm gallery is the perfect place to enjoy a summer evening in Dallas. Drinks are at the ready and there is no agenda. Lisa’s artwork emulating waves, tide pools, and the glistening of the sun on the sea is so refreshing.
